A RIA Novosti correspondent reported that a new earthquake hit central Italy with tremors felt in the historical part of Rome. Evacuation is underway in the city’s metro.
A total of three quakes have been felt in central Italy. Earlier in the day, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit central Italy Wednesday morning, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported.
The quake occurred 108 kilometers northeast of Rome at a depth of 10 kilometers. Later, a 5.7-magnitude quake took place in the same area.
